SAMARTEX SPELLING BEE – FINALS (12.07.2019)
16 Jul 2019The Grande Finale of the Samartex Spelling Bee Competition, was held on July 12, 2019 at Asankragwa Senior High School. The inter- circuit competition was scheduled for 10 schools, which emerged winners during the initial competition for each of the 10 circuits in the Wassa Amenfi West Municipal, Western Region

- There were 3 Rounds of Competition: Dictation, Spelling Bee and Live Essay Writing.
- At the end of the final round IBS Educational Complex School (Asankrangwa) out 1st, followed by Samartex School Complex in second place and Wansema Camp E/A Basic school grabbing third place.
- Prices awarded were;
First Position (for all 3 contestants):
- A Gold Medal
- A Trophy
- A Digital Tablet
- A wooden placard for placing 1st
- 2 Desk Top Computers for the School
- 2 Certificates for the school (1 for participation and 1 for placing 1st)
- A Cash Price of GH¢2,000.00 (30% for Coaches and 70% for School)
- Scholarship for the three (JHS with books &SHS (if applicable) with boarding fees and books)
- Stationery
- Certificates
Second Position (for all 3 contestants):
- A Silver Medal
- A Digital Tablet
- A wooden placard for placing 2nd
- 1 Desk Top Computers for the School
- 2 Certificates for the school (1 for participation and 1 for placing 2nd )
- A Cash Price of GH¢1,500.00 (30% for Coaches and 70% for School)
- Scholarship for 3 contestants (JHS only)
- Stationery
- Certificates
Third Position (for all 3 contestants):
- A Bronze Medal
- A Digital Tablet
- A wooden placard for placing 3rd
- 1 Desk Top Computer for the School
- 2 Certificates for the school (1 for participation and 1 for placing 3rd)
- A Cash Price of GH¢1,000.00 (30% for Coaches and 70% for School)
- Stationery and certificates
All 6 remaining schools and all participating schools were awarded certificates, stationery and all transportation expenses catered for.
The Human Resource Manager of Samartex Thomas Assasie-Gyimah, on behalf of , Mr.Richard Nsenkyire (Managing Director) who initiated the competition, congratulated all schools, coaches and organizers, assuring all present that this was the first among many more to come. With the vision of elevating the standard of education in the district, to empower schools to compete at the regional and national levels.
Mr. John Kelly (PRO, MUNICIPAL GES) extended his profound gratitude to management of Samartex, for the overwhelming gesture and unexpected awards for winners and all participants. On behalf of all schools represented, he wished the company sustainability and continuous undeterred vision to lift the standard of education.
